With nearly 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, Derek enjoys helping individuals and families navigate life’s transitions while working toward long-term financial goals. He takes a well-rounded approach to financial planning, bringing together investments, cash flow, protection strategies, and long-term priorities into a clear, easy-to-follow plan. Derek focuses on providing advice that is practical, personalized, and straightforward.
Derek joined WBT Wealth Management in 2023 and holds his Series 7, Series 66, and Series 63 licenses, along with Life and Health Insurance licenses. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional. Before joining WBT, Derek worked with CAPTRUST and UBS in Nashville.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Tennessee Technological University in 2015 and later completed his MBA at Middle Tennessee State University in 2017.
Originally from Lebanon, Tennessee, Derek now lives in Nashville and enjoys staying connected in both the Nashville and Mt. Juliet communities. He has served on the Board of the Nashville Junior Chamber as Networking Chair, graduated from its Leadership Institute in Fall 2023, and received the 2023–2024 Spotlight Award. Derek is also involved with the Nashville Ski Club and the Mt. Juliet Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, Mackenzie, are members of Cross Point Church in Nashville.
When he’s not working, Derek enjoys promoting financial literacy, hiking, snow skiing, traveling, cheering on the Tennessee Titans and Vols, and spending time with friends and family.
